Willard Gendron, 95, of Walhalla, North Dakota, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla, ND. A memorial service will be on Saturday, August 3. 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church in Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services.
Willard Gendron was born April 19, 1929 in Fremont Township. He attended country school in Fremont Township and graduated from Walhalla High School. Willard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the service, he worked on the Kansas Turnpike and in the oilfields in western North Dakota. On July 16. 1956, he married Carol Fulsaas in Topeka, KS. In 1960, they returned to Fremont Township where he farmed until his retirement, and he truly loved his farm.
He enjoyed riding in the hills, especially in the old Willys Jeep, hunting, snowmobiling, playing his guitar, bingo and an occasional trip to the casino.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, children: Wade (Luz) Gendron, Sheila (Terry) Brown all of Walhalla, grandchildren: Fawn, Nicki, Shona, Wyatt, Danny, Kyle, Tania, and Jim, 14 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are his nieces Susan and Ellen.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Dalton, niece, Marlo and nephew, Brad.
