Werner A. Born age 84 of Crystal, ND died on Friday, July 22, 2005, at the Unity Medical Center, Grafton, ND. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Crystal, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Werner A. Born was born October 2, 1920, in Elora Township of Pembina Co., near Crystal, ND. He grew up and attended school in the Crystal area and graduated from Crystal High School. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was an Aviation Electrician's Mate 2nd Class, serving in the South Pacific. After his discharge from the service in 1945, he returned to the Crystal area where he farmed until his retirement in 1995. He served as treasurer at St. John's Lutheran Church for several years.
He is survived by sisters, Marie Achen, East Grand Forks, MN and Margaret Erickson, Hoople, ND, brother, Rev. Clarence (Alberta) Born, Seattle, WA., sister-in-law, Marguerite Born Lake Charles, LA., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Werner was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Harold and Eugene Born.
