Wayne Robillard, 73, of Langdon, ND, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, at his home in Langdon.
Wayne was born October 11, 1939, at Langdon, ND, to William and Mabel (Lundquist) Robillard. He grew up in Langdon and graduated from Langdon High School. Wayne was united in marriage to Beverly (Welsh) on October 12, 1958, at the Langdon United Methodist Church. Wayne joined his father in the Robillard Painting and Decorating business until he entered the restaurant business. Over the years, Wayne and Bev owned and operated restaurants in Langdon, Drayton, and Pembina. During his retirement years, he worked at the ALCO store in Langdon.
Wayne loved to spend time with his family, visiting and joking with people, and he also enjoyed hobbies which included refinishing antique furniture, bird watching, reading, and making wood burning pictures.
Wayne is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Beverly, of Langdon; children: Terri (Jeff) Gustafson of Langdon, Julie (Jeff) Howatt of Langdon, Debbie Robillard of Chandler, AZ, Dawn (Jeff) Stremick of Minot, ND, and Steve (Elana) Robillard of Pembina, ND; grandchildren: Aimee Gustafson of Irvine, CA, Joel Gustafson of Denver, CO, Leah Gustafson of Chevy Chase, MD, Courtney (Howatt) Bergman (Adam) of Grand Forks, Alex and Ryan Howatt of Langdon, Nathan, Benjaman, and Liza Stremick of Minot; great-grandchildren: Jackson and Piper Bergman of Grand Forks; sisters: Marlene (Vern) Lindquist of Glendive, MT and Beverly (Dave) Coffie of Dale City, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and father, an infant brother, and mother and father-in-law. Wayne passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at home, in the same house where he was born, delivered by his grandmother Lundquist.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Altru Health System's "Filling the Gap" which is a program designed to lessen the financial burden of cancer patients and their families.
