Visitation on Monday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Wade Michael Puppe passed away peacefully in his home September 6th following a complication with his heart. Wade was born in Cavalier, ND on March 14, 1979. He grew up on his family farm in Hensel, ND. He attended school in Cavalier and began learning the trade of farming from a young age. Following graduation from high school in 1998, Wade attended Mayville State University where he studied and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. At Mayville Wade found his passion for music and love of the bagpipes and guitar. Wade belonged to the pipe band Kenora Pipes and Drums where he honed his bag piping skills. Wade's passion lead him to upstate New York where he played for bands affiliated with the 78th Fraser Highlanders. Wade also began his professional career there working for the USDA as a farm loan officer. Wade enjoyed the beautiful countryside New York had to offer along with the many streams where he loved to fly fish. In 2008, Wade returned to the state of ND and eventually moved to Grand Forks where he was currently the USDA Farm Loan Manager. In his spare time, Wade would return to the farm where he enjoyed working outdoors whether it be in the field or in the garden. Meeting Wade meant being on the receiving end of a firm handshake and a big smile. Wade never referred to anyone as a "stranger" for long. With a gleam in his eye and laughter that filled the room all were touched by his presence. Although his time was short, Wade's passion for family, life and music will never be forgotten.
