W. Milton Gregoire

W. Milton Gregoire, age 92 of Cavalier, ND died peacefully at home Monday, February 20, 2017.
Milt Gregoire was born October 19, 1924 at Elkton, MI to Blanche (Morin) & Leo T. Gregoire. He grew up in Backoo, ND and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1943. Milt worked for Burlington Northern for 36 years before retiring in 1986 and enjoyed 20 warm winters in Winter Haven, FL during retirement.
On June 15, 1947, he married Bella Odegaard at Niagara, ND. They were married for 59 years before Bella passed away in August 10, 2006.
He is survived by five children: Wayne (Dr. Mary) Gregoire of Chicago, IL, Lee (Sandra) Gregoire of Colorado Springs, CO, Jon Gregoire and Loel (Dr. Lisa), all of Louisville, KY, and Susan (Bill) Rutherford of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren: Dr. Theresa (Masaya), Dr. Jonathan, Ian (Viri), Katie, Jenna, Benjamin, Ellaka, Louis, and Jean Luc; great grandson Adrian.
Milt was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Bella, brothers: Mahlon and Ervin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 26 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. rosary at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Robert Pecotte Casket Bearers: Benjamin Rutherford, Louis Gregoire, Jean Luc Gregoire, Masaya Yoshida, Matt Ford, Mitchell Ford. Music: Jonathan Gregoire, Organist; Ashley Nordstrom, Soloist. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Faith in Action or St. Brigid's Catholic Church.
