Virginia L. Ottem

Virginia L. Ottem, 79, of Pembina, ND died on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007, at 4:30 p.m. at the Pembina Lutheran Church, Pembina, ND. Visitation will held Friday, October 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the church. Burial in the Pembina Cemetery.
Virginia L. Deere was born October 12, 1927, at Hallock, MN to Leo and Beatrice (Johnson) Deere. She grew up and attended school at Hallock, where she graduated from high school.
After a brief working career she married Merle E. Ottem on January 22, 1949, at Hallock, MN. They lived and farmed in the Pembina area. Merle passed away on September 21, 1995. Virginia devoted her life caring for her family and was active in the church.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne (Gerald) Leonard, Roswell, NM; Shelley (Jack) Ottem, Osnabrock, ND; James Ottem and Luke (Dana) Ottem all of Pembina, ND; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Bill Deere, Hallock, MN.
Virginia was also preceded in death by her parents, grandchild, Kari Ottem, and brothers, Jack and Bob Deere.

Casket Bearers: Wayne Chale, Loren Gendreau, Larry Grube, Darryl Irving, Cope Kern, and Darrell Warner.
