Viola M. Reiser, 83, of Langdon, ND and formerly of New Rockford, ND passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Viola was born March 20, 1931 at Kulm, ND to John and Magdalina Ruff. She grew up and was schooled in the Kulm area then moved to Bismarck, ND where she waitressed and met her future husband, Edwin. She and Edwin were married December 9, 1951 near Kulm but lived in Bismarck until the late 1950ââ¬â¢s. Edwinââ¬â¢s job caused their move to New Rockford, ND where Viola worked as a maid at the local motel and then as the school cook for the New Rockford school for 30 years. She continued living in New Rockford at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd after Edwinââ¬â¢s death in 2004 and then moved to Langdon in 2010. She was currently a resident at Maple Manor Care Center. Viola loved knitting, gardening, bowling, baking/canning, and playing BINGO. She was a former member of the Congregational Church in New Rockford.
Surviving Viola are her sons: Duane (Kathleen) of Grand Forks, Jerry (Sue) of Langdon; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and siblings: Pearl Eldridge, Delores (Alvin) Entzie, LeRoy (Sadie) Ruff, and Mable Pahl. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edwin, brothers LaVerne and Clarence, great-grandchild Justin Kruk, daughter-in-law Rebecca and brothers-in-law Jerry Eldridge and Alvin Pahl.
Prayer Service & Visitation: Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 6-7 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Maple Manor Care Center Chapel in Langdon, ND.
Funeral Service: Services will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd Chapel in New Rockford, ND.
Interment: Prairie Home Cemetery near New Rockford, ND
