Verlin Albrecht, 84, of Langdon, ND, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Verlin was born May 30, 1927 at home to Eva (Spenst) and Joe Albrecht. He attended Moscow Township Grade School and Langdon High School. In 1952 he joined the Air Force as an aircraft hydrolic mechanic and was stationed in Thule, Greenland until he was discharged in 1956. When he returned home, he took over the family farm as well as working other various jobs. On October 16, 1957, he married Altie Kays. Together they had five children and continued working on the family farm.
Verlin was known for his musical talent. He loved playing just about any instrument that he could get his hands on. Some of his favorites were the guitar, piano, violin and accordion. He always said he was the richest man when surrounded by family.
Verlin is survived by his children: Kevin (Ruth) of Humble, TX, Jackie Albrecht of Rugby, ND, Keith (Linda) of Langdon, ND and Jesse of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren: Dexter (Clare) Albrecht, Luke Albrecht, Jade Albrecht, Zia (Josh) Bingaman, Jasmine Albrecht; great-grandchild: Ezra Bingaman; brother: Harvey (Carol) Albrecht; sisters-in-law: Marion Albrecht, Jane Clampitt, Wilma Holt, Gladys Kays, Hazel Miller, Marion Kays; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Altie; infant daughter: Jeanette; his parents: Joe and Eva; and siblings: Robert, Loren, Charles and Jeannie.
SERVICES will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:00p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT - Bethel Mennonite Cemetery, rural Langdon, ND.
