Verda J. Coyle, 78, of Walhalla, ND passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walhalla-Park Center Presbyterian Church, Walhalla. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 31st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home in Walhalla.
Verda was born on October 10, 1935 in Langdon, ND to William and Elizabeth (Hope) Witzel. She grew up in Mt. Carmel, ND and graduated from Langdon High School.
On April 2, 1956, she married Delmar Coyle in Langdon. After their marriage, she worked for Bell Telephone in Portland, OR while Delmar was in the service. After his discharge, they moved to Tioga, ND for a short while before permanently residing in Walhalla, ND.
Delmar and Verda owned and operated Big A Auto Parts in Walhalla for 30 years. Delmar passed away on April 14, 2010. Things she enjoyed were spending time with family and friends, her adventures with her brother Thomas, and BINGO.
She is survived by daughters: Wendy (Kevin) Waslaski, Langdon, ND and Catherine (Stacy) Lies, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Gavin Waslaski, Caitlin Waslaski (Michael Evenson), and Logan Waslaski; Max and Trey Lies; siblings: Thomas Witzel, Langdon and Fern Waltz, Portland, OR.
Also preceeding her in death were her parents; son, Lane Coyle and brother Leo Witzel.
