Tony Liebersbach

Tony Liebersbach, 89, of Nekoma, ND passed away August 16, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center of Osnabrock, ND.

Tony was born March 13, 1918, west of Nekoma, ND, to Jacob and Barbara (Mettroff) Liebersbach. He was raised and educated in the Nekoma area, graduating from Nekoma High School. Jessie Anderson and Tony were united in marriage on March 13, 1942 at the E.P. Anderson home in Osnabrock Township. They made their home in Nekoma where Tony operated the Nekoma Garage and Tony’s Service until he sold the business in 1974. Tony was active in his community of Nekoma, serving on the School Board, Town Board, Fire Department, the Community and Booster Clubs and was a member of the Nekoma Lutheran Church. An avid sports fan, both local and national, Tony enjoyed the San Francisco Giants, especially Willie Mays. He was dedicated to following local sports and was a bus driver for the kids for many years. In his later years, he did a lot of visiting in local nursing homes. He loved traveling with friends to area coffee shops. Tony and Jessie moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Osnabrock in September of 2005.

He is survived by his wife Jessie, children: Cheryl (Norman) Hogfoss of Fairdale, ND; Paul (Patty) Liebersbach of Nekoma, ND; Diane (Greg) Close of Milton, ND, grandchildren; Jay Hogfoss of Grand Forks and Brett (Maria) Close of Milton, sister-in-law Florence Liebersbach of Langdon, brother-in-law Herkie Holquist of Sun City, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents and siblings; William, John, Edward, Joseph, Francis, Dennis, Ann, Isabella and Frieda.

VISITATION will take place from 5 to 7pm on Monday, August 20, 2007, at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES Tuesday August 21, 2007, at 2:00pm at the Nekoma Lutheran Church of Nekoma, ND.

INTERMENT Highland Cemetery, Rural Fairdale, ND.
