Thomas Roger Trottier, formerly of Hamilton, ND, Maple Grove, MN, and
Salome, AZ, went to Heaven Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, in Sun City, AZ,
at the age of 69.
Tom was born October 18, 1942, in Bathgate, ND to Louis and Ruth
Trottier, but grew up in Hamilton, ND. He served in the U.S. Army and
was stationed in Germany. Following his discharge, he moved to Maple
Grove, MN.
He was a retired Robbinsdale, MN firefighter, and also retired from
General Mills JFBTC in Golden Valley, MN. Tom was a certified therapy
dog handler and he and Snooper volunteered and visited patients at
North Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN.
Tom is survived by his wife, Vicki Hill; his mother, Ruth of
Cavalier, ND; brothers: Ben (Marlene) of Enderlin, ND and Dennis
(Pat Willey) of Council Bluffs, IA; daughter, Kimberly (Bryan) Denault
of Warroad, MN; sons-in-law: Bert Jackson of Grafton, ND and Donald
Pankow of Warroad, MN; grandchildren: Tiffany Abrahamson, Breanna &
Eve Jackson, Aaron & Abby Denault, and Leah Red Eagle; niece and
nephews; great nieces; great-great nieces; and numerous cousins, in-
laws, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Larry; wife,
Kathleen; and daughter, Andrea Pankow.
Tom was always a Hamilton small town kind of guy. When he started
wintering at his home in rural Arizona, he adopted the dessert life
and enjoyed exploring on his 4-wheeler. He loved dogs, enjoyed
vegetable gardening, people, and puttering in the garage or yard.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 1:00
p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND. A visitation
will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday evening, Oct. 7, at the funeral home.
