Thomas W. Waldschmidt, 71, Hamilton, ND, left this world peacefully December 25, 2021.
Tom was born in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin and lived in the surrounding area until relocating to Hamilton in 2011. He was a Staff Sgt. in the US Air Force, spending time in Germany and Japan. Tom retired as a Deputy Sheriff in Washington County, Wisconsin, after at 25 year career. He also was an EMT, Fireman, medical transport driver and over the road trucker. He once drove a semi full of supplies to Louisiana to aid the Hurricane Katrina victims. Once he was in ND he worked several harvests driving potato & sugar beet trucks. Tom was a member of the American Legion and National Association for Amateur Radio. He enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and traveling around the United States visiting National Parks and historical sites.
He was preceded in death by his wife Clara (Tootie) and brother Gerald. He leaves behind Vicki Hill, his one and only for the past 10 years. His children, all in Wisconsin, are Jessica (Steve Jaeger), Christina (Michael King) and Kevin (Kayla). He has 3 grandsons and 4 granddaughters. Brothers John (Bobbie) and James are also in Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be held in West Bend, Wisconsin, in the spring.
Tom’s favorite charities were for Law Enforcement and Veterans.
