Theodore Belanus

Theodore R. Belanus age 86, of Walhalla, ND died on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. at the Park Center-Walhalla Presbyterian Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church one hour before time of services. Burial in the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla, ND. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla.
Theodore R. Belanus was born May 27, 1923, near Walhalla, ND to Ralph and Mary Elizabeth (Bartholomew) Belanus. He grew up in the Walhalla area and attended the Colburn Rural School.
On March 12, 1945, he married Adeline Dreger at Winnipeg, Manitoba. He farmed in the Walhalla area his entire life. After retirement in the mid 1970's he and Adeline enjoyed wintering in Arizona. During this time he especially enjoyed playing accordion in several music groups.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Adeline; his children, Ted D. (Judy) Belanus, Brooklyn, WI; Terry B. (Jane) Belanus, Leavenworth, KS; Greg F. (Mary) Belanus, Tucson, AZ; Susan G. (Mark) Widdel, Andover, MN; Gary L. Belanus, East Grand Forks, MN; his grandchildren, Jay, Neil, and Luke Belanus; Matthew (Sara) Belanus and Mary Elizabeth Belanus; and Paul and Alex Widdel; his great grandson, Samuel Theodore Belanus; and his niece, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Ralph Belanus, Jr.
