Teresa Brown

Teresa Brown, 70, of Langdon, ND, passed away July 7, 2013, at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.

Teresa Jane Denault was born May 2, 1943, at Osnabrock, ND, to Clarence and Florence (LaJamodiere) Denault. She was raised in the Osnabrock area where she attended country schools including Oxford Township #3 and went on to Osnabrock High School. Teresa’s first child, Josie, was born September 24, 1962. Teresa and Joseph E. Loughead were united in marriage on September 6, 1964. A son, Joey, was born August 11, 1965 and daughter JoEllen Teresa was born April 26, 1970. Teresa and Joseph were divorced in 1971. She lived in Langdon and later in California where she married Avril Brown in 1981. Teresa became a grandma for the first time on March 23, 1982. Teresa and Avril welcomed a daughter, April, on April 19, 1982 and a son, Seth, on March 14, 1985. She would eventually have 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren that were her pride and joy. Teresa lived in Emerado, ND in 1988, where she worked as a baker. She then moved to Lawton, ND and was employed at the SunLac Inn of Lakota, ND. She lived in Devils Lake, ND where she worked for the Days Inn and returned to Lawton where she worked for many years. She moved to Langdon in 1997, to Garrison, ND in 2000 and returned to Langdon where she was employed at Gracie’s restaurant and has lived since.

Teresa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening flowers and had a love for traveling. She had a love of baking and was known for her special occasion cakes. She loved making special cakes for the special days in her family member’s lives.

Teresa is survived by her children: Josephine (Mitch) Ramsrud of Langdon, ND, Joseph Loughead of Grand Forks, ND, JoEllen (Chris) Hanson of Langdon, ND, April (Gerry) Hanson of Moorhead, MN, Seth (Stella) Brown of Grand Forks, ND; former son-in-law Mike Lunski; former daughter-in-law Susan K. Reck; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Wesley Denault of Walhalla, Ellen Burke of Langdon, ND/Huntsville, TX, Odelle Grimm of Langdon, ND, Rose Denault of Milton, ND, Nora Shoenberg of Mohall, ND, Ava Hiltner of Drayton, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: John, Claire, Joe and Adrian; and sisters: Olivene Mikkelsen, Geraldine Ridley, and Dora Johnson.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

Interment will be held at Union Cemetery in Osnabrock, ND.
