Tamara “Tammy” Ann Stanhope, 59, passed away on January 17, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Memorial service will take place at Pembina Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with a gathering to follow. Visitation with family present will begin at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Tammy was born on April 30, 1962, in Hallock, MN, to Ronald and Darlyne Ness. She was and will always be their baby. She graduated from Pembina High School in 1980. Following graduation, she attended college in Devils Lake at LRSC and got her LPN. She worked at Kittson County Memorial Hospital for 14 years. She then worked at UPS Brokerage in Pembina, ND, for 24 years. She ended her working career at D&K Grocery doing a job she loved the most, always staying busy and visiting with people.
On July 24, 1982, she was married to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, David Allen Stanhope. They were inseparable since the 5th grade. Together they raised 3 boys, Christopher, Brett, and Brandon. She was their biggest fan in all they did and was so proud of them. Family was everything to Tammy and she made every family get together memorable and a good time. The highlight of her world was being Nana to her grandchildren. She spoiled them endlessly and loved playing games with them and taking them camping and swimming. Tammy threw the best birthday parties for her grandkids. She was the life of every party.
Tammy loved spending time camping at Lake of the Woods Campground as well as various other campgrounds. She enjoyed golfing with David and her parents. Those were some of her best days. She loved her flowers and gardens and would spend countless hours fussing over them in her yard with David.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law LaVerne Stanhope. She will be missed terribly by those she loved and left behind including her husband David Stanhope; her sons Christopher Stanhope; Brett (Jennifer) Stanhope and beloved grandchildren Blake, Beau, & Reese; Brandon (Carmen) Stanhope and beloved grandchildren Kevin & Oliver; her parents Ronald & Darlyne Ness; her sister Debra (Dale) Norton; her father-in-law Jack (Phyllis) Stanhope; her brother-in-law Dan (Deb) Stanhope; & her sister-in-law Deb (Bill) Jerome. She also has many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews whom she adored.
