Stella Chruszch

Stella Chruszch age 91 of Cavalier, ND died on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, May 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Stella was born June 30, 1918, at Gorham, ND to Nick and Anna (Rouchuk) Dutchuk. She grew up at Belfield, ND and moved to Pembina County in her teen years. She did house cleaning for local families.
On February 28, 1939, she married Peter Chruszch at Leroy, ND After their marriage they farmed in the Backoo area. Stella enjoyed baking and did Christmas baking for area people. She also loved gardening, flowers, the outdoors, Ukranian music and exploring with her metal detector.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Chruszch, Karlstad, MN, Loretta Holcombe, Fort Worth, TX, Betty (Vern) Greenwood, Neche, ND, Diane (Rob) Gamache, Columbiana, AL; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Walter Dutchuk, Bismarck, ND; sisters, Polly Dvorchuk, Belfield, ND, Rosie Lowenstien, Tacoma, WA, and Tillie Gray, Anchorage, AK.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Peter on April 28, 1995; brother, Eugene; two infant sisters and sisters, Katie, Helen, and Mary.
