Shirley Brown

Shirley A. Brown, 80, of Walhalla, ND passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral Services will be on Saturday June 9, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00pm on Friday, June 8, 2012. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla.

Shirley was born September 26, 1931, at Grand Forks, ND to Clifford and Pearl (Brown) Copeland. She grew up at Manvel, ND and attended high school in Grand Forks. On June 5, 1949, she married Wallace Brown at Grand Forks. After their marriage they lived in Grand Forks for five years and then moved to Walhalla. Shirley worked at Ben Franklin, Dairy Queen, and at Wally's TV all in Walhalla. Hobbies of hers included gardening, tending flowers, cross-stitch, sewing, and bird watching.

Survivors include her husband, Wallace; children: Barb (Gene) Arens, Langdon, ND, Terry (Sheila) Brown and Ray Brown, all of Walhalla; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
