Sherry Christensen

Sherry Christensen, 57, of Langdon, ND and formerly of Devils Lake, passed away April 25, 2013, at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Sherry was born June 24, 1955 to Melvin and Doris (Engie) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Langdon, graduating in the class of 1973. Sherry was united in marriage to Albert Christensen in 1977 in Elko, Nevada. Albert and Sherry had three children: Jared, Tonya, and Kirstin. Sherry attended college at UND-Lake Region and earned her degree in nursing. She loved nursing and enjoyed working with the elderly. Sherry was a talented artist. Her Country Blues were known worldwide. She was united in marriage to David Slama in 1990 at San Clemente, CA. Sherry enjoyed bowling as a hobby and loved spending time with her grandkids.

Sherry is survived by her mother Doris Johnson of Langdon, ND; children: Jared (Elisa) Christensen of Devils Lake, ND, Tonya Christensen of Edmore, ND, Kirstin Mitzel of Langdon, ND; grandchildren: Destinae Hodges, Justice Mitzel, Kagen Evans Mitzel, Cassandra Christensen, Kaylee Christensen, Carter Christensen and Brent Borstad, and brother Robert (Judy) Johnson of Page, ND.

She was preceded in death by her father, and daughter Siara Clair Slama.

Services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 7:30pm, at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND.
