Sharon Olson

Sharon Olson, 59, of Langdon, ND, passed away April 2, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Sharon was born January 12, 1953, to Verner and Edith (Kirby) Olson at Langdon, ND. She grew up in the Langdon area and graduated in the Langdon High School Class of 1971. Sharon and Edwin Olson were united in marriage on June 26, 1971. They welcomed a baby girl, Rachel, in 1972. Rachel would bring them great joy before her passing in October 1974. A daughter Tara joined the family, followed by daughter Tami. They were the light of her world, and she was an amazing mom.

Sharon and Edwin raised their family in Langdon where Sharon has been employed with Langdon Building Center for many years. Her smiling face was welcoming and her gift for interior decorating and knowledge of paint colors was sought out. Sharon and Edwin enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida. Sharon was active in her church, United Lutheran. She was a member of Circle 6 and served on various committees. She fostered wonderful friendships there and with her Birthday Club ladies. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She found great joy in living near Tara’s children and, this year, spending precious time with Tami’s children in St. Charles, MN. Her kind and gentle presence will be greatly missed.

Sharon is survived by her husband: Edwin of Langdon, ND; daughters: Tara Field of Langdon and Tami (Eric) Omdahl of St. Charles, MN; grandchildren: Sam and Emma Field, Grace, Mya and Henry Omdahl; sisters: Lois Olson and Frances Noland of Langdon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rachel, son-in-law David Field, sister LaVerne Lorenz and brother Roger Olson.

VISITATION will take place from 4 to 6pm on Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00pm at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND
