Sharon Galindo

Sharon (Cuffe) Galindo, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, left this world on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at her home in Grand Forks, ND. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Olga, ND.

Mom was a woman of great faith. She would always say, “ask God to put angels around you.” She would bless our cars with holy water before we left for Illinois and put little crosses all around the car. She shared her love of the Lord with everyone, whether they wanted to hear it or not.

Mom loved her hometown of Olga. It was always home to her. She loved sitting on the porch, listening to the wind. She loved walking at night and laying on a blanket looking at the stars. She would share so many stories of growing up in Olga. We loved to hear them. Mother loved our little 4th of July celebration: the parade and the cookout. She was the hostess.

Mom was famous for her chokecherry jelly. Everyone wanted a jar. She was also world famous (her grandkids would say) for her canning. She did pickles, peaches, beets, tomatoes and much more.

Many considered her to be a mother and a grandmother. She loved them all. She would often call everyone, you little twits.

Mom enjoyed going to bingo and just loved her friends. She would say she enjoyed visiting as much as playing bingo.

Mom had a long journey with cancer. She was given a few months to live and we were blessed with over a year. Even after treatment, we would have to make her rest. She wanted to do her daily chores. Thank God that mom was almost pain free up until the end.

Mom will be loved and missed.
