Ruth Scott

Ruth Scott, 82, of Fargo, ND and formerly of Hannah, ND passed away on May 3, 2014 at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo.

Ruth Edailia Pfeifer was born to Jacob & Karoline Pfeifer on February 19, 1932 on their farmstead in Alsen, ND. Ruth went to the Gordon School #1 in Gordon Township. After leaving home she married Albert Scott on June 18, 1952. They farmed near Alsen, ND and later moved to Tioga, ND where Albert worked in the oil field and Ruth babysat for several people and was a stay a home mom . In 1970 they moved to Hannah to be closer to Ruth’s parents, and Ruth worked as a dishwasher for the Hannah Public School for several years. After building their house in Langdon 1976 Ruth then started doing babysitting for many different families along with working at the Langdon Senior Center as a dishwasher.

Ruth is survived by her son, Craig Scott of Cathay, ND; daughter Colette Carter of West Fargo, ND; sister Rozi Jorgenson of Battle Lake, MN; grandson Cody Brown of West Fargo, ND; granddaughters: Cassandra Golden of Cathay, ND, Aimee Scott of Cathay, ND, Heather Brown of Langdon, ND, Marie Asbury of Cathay, ND, LaTasha Scott of Cathay, ND, Kayla Carter of West Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren: Timothy Golden Jr., Sierra Golden, & Mason Golden, LillyAunna Asbury, Carl Scott all of Cathy, ND and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, son Curtis, brother Art Pfeifer, half-brothers Ray (Jean) Pfeifer and Harold (Margaret) Pfeifer, and half-sisters Phyllis Long and Violet Beier.


Services for Ruth will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon, ND.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon.



Interment- Lebanon Cemetery, Langdon, ND
