Ruth M. Oasheim

Ruth M. Oasheim, 89, formerly of Hoople, ND passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Lancaster, MN.
Ruth Margaret Swenson was born April 2, 1925, at Lancaster, MN to Carl and Adina (Frazen) Swenson. She grew up in Lancaster where she attended school and graduated from high school. Ruth worked at her parent's mercantile store in Lancaster.
On January 22, 1947, she married Roy Oasheim at Lancaster, MN. After their marriage they lived in various places and then settled in Pembina, ND and Hoople, ND. Roy passed away April 7, 2002. For the past four years she has resided at Wedgewood Manor.
She loved baking, cooking, playing piano, and babysitting.
Survivors include her childen: Cheryl (Ed) Gallagher, Partyville, WI, Rick (Connie) Oasheim, Cavalier, ND, Donald (Michelle) Oasheim, Twin Lakes, WI, Anita Oasheim and David Oasheim, both of Hoople, ND, Todd Oasheim, Grafton, ND, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren; sister, Cora Schenky, Greenbush, MN.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Patricia Burns; brothers: Lowell, Vincent, and Gene Swenson; sisters: Edith Moser, Hilder Kroker, Lillian Anderson, Helen Hunter.
