Ruth Morrison

Ruth Morrison, 82, of Neche, ND passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bathgate Presbyterian Church, Bathgate, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Bruce Cemetery, Neche. In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the Bruce Cemetery or charity of donor's choice.
Ruth H. Peterson was born February 1, 1930, to Eric and Minnie (Carlson) Peterson at Backoo, ND. She attended school at Backoo and graduated from Cavalier High School. After attending beauty school in Grand Forks, she worked at the A.S.C.S. office and the Pembina County Courthouse in Cavalier.
On June 23, 1954, she married Duane Morrison at Cavalier. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Neche area. Ruth enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, and teasing.
Survivors include her husband, Duane; children: Marlene (Jerry) Nolte and Debra (Troy) Green all of Grand Forks, Curtis (Karen) Morrison, Neche, Mark (Deborah) Morrison, Cavalier, and Karen (Mark) Veldhuis, Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren: Alan (Jodi) Nolte, Michelle (Cory) Fairchild, John (Aarin) Nolte; Jordan and Daniel Green; Carey Morrison (Jared Pennoyer), Lynae and Dana Morrison; Sarah (Tom) Kuesel, Anthony, Nicholas, and Jaden Morrison; and Alex and Stephanie Veldhuis; great grandchildren: Isaac and Samuel Nolte; Culley, Evy, Aly, Izy, and Renz Fairchild; Sabin Pennoyer; Elena Mrozek, Gretta and Brendan Kuesel.
Preceding her in death were her parents; infant brother, Garry, brothers: Ray, Melvin, and Carl Peterson; and sisters: Lois Hartz, Esther Helgoe, and Shirley Kopf.
