Ruth Chaput

Ruth Chaput, 85, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.



Ruth was born October 3, 1928, at Mowbray, ND, to Louie and Annie (Kartes) Fischer. She attended elementary school in Mt. Carmel and graduated from St. Alphonsus Catholic High School in Langdon. Ruth was united in marriage to Wilbert E. Chaput on November 18, 1947. They made their home on the farm and were blessed with five children. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, growing raspberries and was known for her canning and baking. Ruth especially loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many games and various activities. Ruth had a strong Catholic faith and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters.



Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Wilbert; her children: Kim (Terian) Chaput of Langdon, ND, Bonnie (Johnny) Walker of Grand Forks, ND, Sherry (Eddie) Huber of Devils Lake, ND, Joann (Jim) Remer of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Jason (Lexi) Chaput, Amanda (Jason) Seykora, Marie (Bill) Mack, Becki (Adam) Erdmann, Carrie (Nyk) Hope, Alex (Vanessa) Chaput, Justin (Ken) Walker, Brittany Walker, Michael Huber, Stacy Remer, Michele Remer and Jessica Remer; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.



Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stacey Chaput; grandson, Louis Chaput; and brothers, Lloyd Fischer and James Fischer.



Visitation will begin Sunday, February 2, 2014, at 6:00pm with a 7:30pm Prayers Service, all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.



Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014, at 10:30am at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.



Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND, in the spring.
