Ruth J. Bachman, 91, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Ruth Jennie (Haraldsen) Bachman was born September 7, 1927 on a homestead near Buffalo, South Dakota to Knut and Jennie Haraldsen. She graduated from Buffalo High School and attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. She married George Bachman on August 9, 1947 and they were married 66 years until George’s passing in February of 2014. They raised their family and farmed south of Hamilton, North Dakota.
Ruth was always involved in her church and taught Sunday School for 50 consecutive years. She also taught Bible studies for the residents of the Pioneer Rest Home in Bathgate, ND for many years. Her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior was the most important thing in her life and sharing that faith with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and others.
Ruth is survived by her 4 children, Robert (LeAnn) Bachman, Willard, MO, and 3 children, Jason (Natalie) Bachman, Ryan (Kimberly) Bachman, Dawnetta (Travis) Cooper; Jenny (James) DeMell, Cavalier, ND, and 3 children, Ruth (Jason) Ivesdal, Dale (Jayna) DeMell, Jon (Melissa) DeMell; Linda (Gordon) Werven, Cavalier, ND and 3 children, Justin (Jennifer) Werven, Kristi (Rex) Causey, Shauna (Joel) Sandoz and Carolyn (John Leo) Schmidt, Minneapolis, MN and daughter Kayla (Adam) Prusinski; plus 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Sophie Loftsgaard, Park River, ND, Alice Schaler, Tualatin, OR, and brother Erling Haraldsen, Salem, OR.
Preceding her in death were 4 brothers, Harald Haraldsen, Leonard Haraldsen, Anton Haraldsen, Kenneth Haraldsen, sister, Esther Steiger, and one great-grandchild, Joshua Ivesdal.
