Rosina Hoffarth, 93, of Langdon, ND and formerly of Mt. Carmel, ND went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND with family at her side.
Rosina Kroetsch was born to Joseph and Regina (Koehmstedt) at Mowbray, ND on March 18, 1919. Rosina was educated in the Mt. Carmel area and at St. Alphonsus in Langdon. On October 25, 1938 she was united in marriage to Otto Hoffarth at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel. She and Otto lived on the Hoffarth family farm and raised 12 children. They farmed until 1974 when Otto passed away. Rosina continued to live on the farm for four more years and then moved into Langdon in 1978. She had been a resident of Maple Manor Care Center since 2006.
Rosina loved playing cards, bunco, and bingo. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, doing ceramics and arts and craft projects. She gardened and collected dolls. At age 80, she got a computer and emailed her children regularly. Rosina was a lifetime caregiver to her mother and her siblings, before and during her years of raising her own children. Rosina was a member and served on the altar societies of both Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon. She participated in Catholic Daughters, West Hope Homemakers Club and the Senior Citizen Center.
Rosina is survived by her children: Rosemary (Howard) Groven, Lloyd (Joan) Hoffarth, Gary (Bonnie) Hoffarth, Sandra (John) Croce, Mary Ellen Stephens, Francis (Marian) Hoffarth, Glen (Elaine) Hoffarth, Ron (Kirsten) Hoffarth, and Patty (Bruce) Burckhard; 31 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Martha Hoffarth; and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Kroetsch and Anna Hoffarth.
Rosina was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children: Luella, Jerome, and Thomas; siblings: Edna, Edith Dosmann, Sister Reginella, Eleanor Dosmann Schneider, Linus, John, Frank, Lorenda Fetsch, Arthur, Edwin, and Frances Ludwig; daughter-in-law: Shirley Hoffarth and sons-in-law: Mike Stephens and Bill Klein.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to Langdon Senior Citizen Center or St. Alphonsus Endowment Fund.
SERVICES: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
VISITATION: 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with a 6:00 Rosary and a 7:00 prayer service.
INTERMENT: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery ââ¬â Mt. Carmel, ND
