Ronald Mikkelsen

Ronald Mikkelsen, 82, of Langdon, ND, passed away January 14, 2014, at the Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, AZ.

Ronald Eugene was born April 21, 1931, to Marvin and Bernadine (Kartes) Mikkelsen at Mt. Carmel, ND. He grew up and went to school at Mt. Carmel and then began work for Cavalier County. Ronald was united in marriage to Bette Agar on July 30, 1951 at Mt. Carmel and seven children were born to this union. Ronald began the Mikkelsen Construction Company in the late 1950s. He owned and operated Mikkelsen Bros. Construction with his four sons: Randy, Monte, Kent and Kevin until his retirement in 2011. He was active in the Langdon Country Club and Eagles Aerie #3454. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and served on the Langdon Fire Department. Ronald was married for 62 years to the love of his life, Bette. They wintered in the south for the last 30 years. The first years were spent in Texas and about the last 20 in Yuma. Ronnie loved to tease his family and friends and had a great sense of humor.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bette, of Langdon; children: Randy (Phyllis) Mikkelsen of Langdon, ND, Gene (Deborah) Mikkelsen of Rock Springs, WY, Monte (Darla) Mikkelsen of Bottineau, ND, Marla Zeis of Langdon, Kent (Carol) Mikkelsen of Langdon, ND, Kevin (Karrie) Mikkelsen of Langdon, ND, Michelle (Joe) Lovcik of Langdon, ND; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings: Melford (Norma) of Seattle, WA, Ted of Langdon, ND, Floyd (Betty) of Langdon, ND, Wayne (Audrey) of Langdon, ND, Tom (Leota) of Langdon, ND, Dennis (Gloria) of Langdon, ND, Merle (Kaye) of Grand Forks, ND, Dale of Wenatchee, WA; sister-in-law Marjorie Mikkelsen of Langdon, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, sister Darlene and brother Gerald.

VISITATION will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 beginning at 5pm with a 7pm prayer service at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND. Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Tuesday.

SERVICESwill be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at11:00am at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.

INTERMENT will be held in the spring at the Calvary Cemetery of Langdon, ND.
