Ronald "Red" Freschett, 73, of Cavalier, ND passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013, at 2:00pm at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 3rd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a 3:00 p.m. prayer service at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier. Burial will be held at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Cemetery.
Ronald was born March 22, 1939, at Cavalier to George and Lucille (Martineau) Freschett. He grew up in Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School. Red worked as a meat cutter at local grocery stores in Cavalier. He served in the North Dakota National Guard and was a volunteer fireman with the Cavalier Fire Department. His pastimes included hunting, fishing, and raising geese and ducks.
Survivors include his sisters: Lorraine (Leonard) Hartje, St. Thomas, ND, Patricia (Daniel) Kasprick, Grafton, ND, and Barbara (Dan) O'Connell, Elk River, MN; and his nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Sharon Freschett.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Robert Pecotte.
Music: Rene Cashin, Cantor and Larry Collins, Organist.
Casket Bearers: Bobby Brown, David Brown, Curtis Hartje, Duane Indridson, Scott Kasprick, Shawn Kasprick.
