Robert A. Shablow

Robert A. Shablow, 63, of Walhalla, ND passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Robert Alan Shablow was born February 17, 1953 at Hallock, Minnesota to Robert Duane and Gloria (Nordlund) Shablow. He grew up in the Lake Bronson, Minnesota area and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1971. Robert then served in the U.S Army and was stationed in Germany. After his discharge from the service he returned to the Lake Bronson area, where he worked construction. In 1985, he moved to Walhalla where he worked for Johnson Farms. He later worked construction until his retirement. Things he enjoyed were hunting, fishing, trapping, and spending time with his loved ones.
On June 7, 1986, he married Janet Lafferty at Grand Forks, ND. She survives as do his children: Jennifer (Jordon) Patterson, Drayton, ND, Byron (Tiffany) Shablow, Grand Forks, ND, Crystal Shablow ( Christopher Belanus, Walhalla, ND; grandchildren: Kaeden, Chase, Hope, and Shawn; siblings: Rick Shablow (Wendy) and Roberta Frei (Stanley) all of Lake Bronson, MN, Susan (Tim) Nordine, Karlstad, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents, Victor and Agnes Shablow and Amandus and Lily Nordlund.
