Robert "Bob" Murray

Robert J. "Bob" Murray, 81, of Cavalier, ND and formerly of Hamilton, ND passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Baptist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, September 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial will be held in the Hamilton Cemetery.
Robert J. Murray was born October 8, 1932, near Osnabrock, ND to Joseph and Hazel (Hawbaker) Murray. At the age of eight his family moved to Walhalla, ND, where he attended school.
On June 11, 1954, Robert married Frances J. McEwen at Cavalier, ND. After their marriage they lived in Walhalla for two years; later moving to Hamilton in 1957. Bob farmed and worked in the edible bean industry until his retirement. His passion in life was the love of his family and serving his Lord. Bob served on the church board, Hamilton School Board, Pembina County Fair Board, and was North Dakota Fair Man of the Year.
Survivors include his children: Donald (Michelle) Murray, Cavalier, Kathy (Bruce) Redenbaugh, Dodge City, KS, Diane (Ron) Schillinger, Gwinner, ND, Judy (Jim) Maurer, Mandan, ND, Patty (Mike) Ahern, Lawrence, KS; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Hutton, Corpus Christie, TX.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Frances on February 6, 2007; and sister, Margaret Anderson.
