Robert Joseph Monette

Robert Joseph Monette, 69, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Valley Elder Care, Grand Forks, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier. Visitation will be held Friday, January 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the church.
Robert was born May 8, 1945, in South Olga, ND to Ernest and Agnes (Denault) Monette. He grew up in the South Olga area where he attended country school. He then worked for farmers in the Olga area and at the PAR Site.
On May 13, 1977, he married Mary Beaudoin at Cavalier. After his marriage, he worked for Eddie Aamodt Construction, the City of Cavalier, and Pembina County Highway Department. Things he enjoyed were telling stories, visiting, gardening, picking berries, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; children: Tammy Brooks, Drayton, ND, Dawn (Sean) Fraser, Cavalier,ND, Daniel (Michelle) Monette, Reynolds, ND, Gary Monette, Cavalier; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings: Ella Monette, Grafton, ND, Agnes Braddock, Grand Forks, ND, Walter (Sandy) Monette, Lincoln, ND and Marie (George) Sutton, Alexander, ND.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Albert.
