Robert J Lill

Robert J. Lill, 80, of Alsen, ND passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at his home near Alsen.

Robert John Lill was born August 27, 1932 to John Sr. and Katherine (Spanier) Lill. Robert attended grade school in North Loma Township and then graduated from St. Alphonsus School in 1950. He entered the U.S. Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955.

After the service, Robert started farming his family’s land near Loma. He took care of his mother and sister, Ann, for many years. Robert retired from farming in 1989. He was united in marriage to Anne Randall on October 12, 2002 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND.

Robert enjoyed attending auctions, working on his antiques tractors and �toys’, and gardening. He was always busy doing something. He and Anne enjoyed many winters traveling to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Robert was a member of Eagles Aerie #3454, American Legion Post #98, and the Knights of Columbus.

Robert is survived by his wife, Anne; step-children: Daniel (Robbie) Randall, Julia Hunter, Cheryl (Lonny) Wilse, Randy (Deanna) Randall, and Dale Randall; 8 step-grandchild; 5 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Edward, Arthur, Ernest, John; sisters: Leona Sauer, Ann Huber, Barbara Padden; and nephews: Gary and Wayne.

SERVICES will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon.

VISITATION will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday.
