Robert married Anne Yvonne LeFavor on December 14, 1957. They lived and farmed in Gordon Twp Cavalier County. They retired from farming and moved to Langdon in 1992. Robert was a lifelong farmer. He loved his farm and loved to talk about farming. He remained an active participant during retirement by helping out in the spring and fall. One of Robert's points of pride, was how many curling bonspiel entry fees he paid for his kids each winter as they were growing up.
Robert and Anne traveled to many curling events to watch their kids and grand kids curl. Then they would sight see their way home.
Robert also pulled his kids many miles around lakes so they could water ski, including a pond on his own property. Robert was a director for the Alsen Farmers Elevator, served on the session for the Presbyterian Church and was President of the Langdon Curling Club. Robert enjoyed playing pinochle in the "Big League" at the Eagles. Robert is survived by his four children: Lori (Tim) Kreklau, Lisa (Joel) Jacobson, Mark (Val) Cheatley and Nancy (Robb) Becker, all in the Langdon area. They are the proud grandparents of ten: Andrew (Caitlin) and Mitchell Kreklau, Zach (Andrea) along with great-granddaughter Harper, Zane and Jennifer Jacobson, Justin and Rachel Cheatley and Nick, Courtney and Chris Becker. Grandpa Bob has spent countless hours attending his grandchildren's sports and activities. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Anne. Robert is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Helen & Bert Saxlund, sister-in-law, Delores Sharp, (AZ) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His parents and beloved wife Anne, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Cavalier County Memorial Hospital, Langdon, ND.
