Richard (Dick) Schwartz, 79, of Rochester, MN and formerly of Langdon, ND, went to his home in heaven on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at St. Anthonyââ¬â¢s Hospital of Denver, CO following a heart attack.
Dick was born in Langdon, ND to the late Herbert and Minnie (Hunt) Schwartz on November 15, 1932. He grew up in Langdon where he attended Langdon High School. He later enlisted in the Army where he served our country in Korea. Dick married Lois Shortridge in 1960 and resided in Langdon until relocating to Rochester, MN in 2009. Dick was a Mobil Oil distributer for 40 years. He enjoyed his days driving to his customers and the frequent stops at the coffee shops.
He was an active member of his church and volunteered his time singing and preaching at area nursing homes. He loved hunting, golfing and reading a good book.
Dick is survived by his wife: Lois of Rochester, MN; daughter: Julie Demirsar of Rochester, MN; and son: Darin (Kaysie) of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Katie and Josh Demirsar and Spencer Schwartz.
A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Langdon, ND on Saturday, June 9 at 2pm.
