Richard Messner

Richard Messner, 68, Langdon, ND passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital, Langdon, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Langdon, ND. A rosary service will be held on Friday at 11:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Wales, ND.
Richard was born May 12, 1948, at Wales, ND to Aloyius "Alex" and Beatrice (Ohlheiser) Messner. He grew up in Wales and moved to Langdon, where he graduated from Langdon High School in 1966. Richard then started working at Service Auto in Langdon under Slim Biby, in 1976 he became the manager. Things he enjoyed were NASCAR, puzzles, doing word search, and visiting with his many friends.
He is survived by his sisters: Beatrice Delvo, Langdon, ND, Lillian (Leo) Bittner, Devils Lake, ND, Viola (Dennis) Brown, Langdon; brothers-in-law: Milan "Red" Anderson and Francis Babinski, both of Grand Forks, ND; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings: Ardella Anderson, Marie Babinski, Helen Nagle, Joseph Messner; brothers-in-law: Jerome Delvo and Thomas Nagle; nephew, Gary Messner.
