Richard Duerr, 64, of Langdon, ND passed away Dec. 4, 2007 at Langdon, ND. Richard Donald Duerr was born on May 7, 1943 at a farm near Munich to Alfred and Dorothy (Buntjer) Duerr. He attended school at Nekoma and graduated in May of 1962. He joined the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1965 and was later a member of the American Legion Post #98. On September 18, 1970 Richard married Veronica Bina and they became the parents of two sons, Tom and Rick.
Throughout Richardââ¬â¢s life he loved sports, horseshoes and was loyal to the Atlanta Braves. In the 1960ââ¬â¢s and 1970ââ¬â¢s he played softball and baseball for Nekoma nd Lawton. Richard coached peewee baseball for many years. With pride and love for each player, he taught them the skills of baseball as well as good sportsmanship and how to accept wins and losses. Richard was a member and past elder of the Langdon Presbyterian Church. He was employed by the City of Langdon from 1970 to 2005. For many years he was the superintendent for the Langdon Street Department. He felt most comfortable driving down the streets of Langdon pushing snow off the streets in ââ¬ï¿½hisââ¬â¢ 644 John Deer Payloader. To him the 644 was his friend. He also owned Duerrââ¬â¢s Sharpening Shop, sharpening scissors, knives, etc.
Richard is survived by his sons, Tom of Houston, TX and Rick (Shannon) of Langdon, brothers Alfred, Lloyd, Ray, Glen, Robert (Joyce) and James.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
