Reuben Krahn

January 21, 1915 — July 29, 2010

Reuben Krahn, 95, of Langdon, ND, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center of Osnabrock, ND.

Reuben was born January 21, 1915, to Jacob and Maggie (Penner) Krahn in Waterloo Township, Cavalier County. He was raised and educated in the Waterloo and Moscow Township area. Reuben was united in marriage to Evelyn Bernice Spenst on November 29, 1946 at Bethel Mennonite Church. They lived in the Langdon area all their lives. Reuben was a life-long farmer who also worked on construction projects and on many wood projects as a hobby. Reuben accepted Christ at an early age and was active in the Bethel Mennonite Church. Reuben dedicated a great deal of time and energy to the upkeep and support of Bethel Cemetery. He enjoyed visiting elderly friends and neighbors in the nursing home and hospital.

Reuben is survived by his children: Melvena (Warren) Magnus of Cavalier, ND; Evanna (Wayne) Magnus of Langdon, ND; Karry (Debbie) Krahn of Langdon, ND; Devona (Tom) Kubas of Mankato, MN; Donella (Claude) Smith of Pendleton, OR, 18 grandchildren, and Reuben was about to become a great-grandfather. He is also survived by his brothers Emil (Ruby) Krahn of Morton, IL, Ben (Lavina) Krahn of Newton, KS, sister-in-law Rose Krahn of Helenwood, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, siblings Abe, Katie Loewen, Mary Gadaire, Herb, Clarence, Alvin, George, infant brothers Robert and Reinhardt, and an infant sister Rose.

SERVICES Will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon, ND.

VISITATION will take place at the church Monday for one hour before the time of the services.
