Raymond L. Wilson

April 5, 1923 — April 25, 2018

Raymond L. Wilson, 95, of rural Drayton, ND passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Unity Medical Center, Grafton, ND. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Bowesmont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the charity of donor’s choice.

Raymond Leslie Wilson was born April 5, 1923, on the family farm near Joliette, ND to Albert Leslie and Alma (Sandberg) Wilson. He grew up in the Joliette -Bowesmont area, where he attended the Fleece Country School. Ray enlisted in the U.S Army Air Corp serving from 1942 to 1946. During his time in the service, Ray received three battle stars while serving in India, Burma, China, and North Africa. After his discharge from the service he returned to the family farm and established his own farm.

On June 20, 1948, Ray married Zonia Klem. After their marriage they continued farming, until his retirement in 2015. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and curling. He was a member of the Hallock Curling Club, Drayton American Legion Post, and the Drayton Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Zonia; sons: Bob and Ron Wilson both of Drayton, ND.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Jean Andersen, and brothers: Elmer, Vernon, Marvin, and Albert, Jr.
