Raymond E. Kuchar, 84, of Edmore, ND, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 in Edmore.
Raymond was born October 9, 1932 to Ralph and Anastasia (Matejcek) Kuchar on the family farm in Highland Township. He grew up in that area and graduated from Edmore High School in 1950. After graduating, Raymond started farming with his father on the family farm. On April 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Idella Sperling in Nekoma, ND. They continued living on the farm and raised their family there until retiring. They moved to Devils Lake for some time then returned to Edmore. Raymond and Idella enjoyed their summers in North Dakota and their winters in Weslaco, TX.
Raymond loved the outdoors- hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially enjoyed the sunsets at their lake lot on Devils Lake. He loved to play pool and was known for making dumplings and sauerkraut whenever friends or family were coming over to visit. Raymond was active on the Farmers Shipping & Supply board for 28 years, board of Dundee Mutual Insurance in Park River, and was on the board of the Edmore School PTA for a few years. He was a member of St. Edwardââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Nekoma, ND.
Surviving Raymond are his wife, Idella, of Edmore, ND; children and grandchildren: Randall (Patty) of Edmore ââ¬â Riley, Reid(Carly), & Robb, Ronald (special friend Ruth) of Edmore ââ¬â Megan(Jordan), Jordon, & Katelyn, Margaret (Brian) Rydlund of Lino Lakes, MN ââ¬â Derek, Cynthia, & Jonathan, Kathleen (Osvaldo) Parra of San Antonio, TX ââ¬â Gina, Emily,& Matthew and Richard (Brenda) of Michigan, ND ââ¬â Marleigh (Kenny) & Seth; great-granddaughter Blake; and brother Rudolph Kuchar. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father George Bursick, daughters Rebecca Kuchar and Cynthia LaMotte, grandson Austin Parra, and sister-in-law Donna Kuchar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will take place from 5-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 prayer service on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to the Cynthia Kuchar LaMotte Scholarship at Lake Region College in Devils Lake, ND.
