Raymond George Fetsch, 80, of Langdon, ND and formerly of Milton, ND, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon.
Ray was born April 3, 1935 to George and Lorenda (Kroetsch) Fetsch in Wales, ND where he grew up and attended school. Ray married Marilyn Fischer in Mt. Carmel on May 12, 1959. They made their home in Milton, ND, where they raised their family. Ray worked as a farm laborer and then as the custodian at the Milton/Osnabrock School. Ray and Marilyn purchased a farm south of Osnabrock in 1991 and lived there until moving to Langdon in 2011. Ray has been a resident of Maple Manor since 2013 due to health reasons.
Ray loved going on vacation - either camping with his family or taking bus tours. He enjoyed curling, snowmobiling, working with his cattle, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Milton Hilltoppers, Milton Curling Club, and Knights of Columbus.
Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn, of Langdon; children: Kevin (Cynthia) Fetsch of Grand Forks,ND, Cheryl (Kelly) Condon of Thompson, ND, Darla Hanson of Grafton, ND, Lori (Myran) Moen of Shelly, MN , and Kent (Andrea) Fetsch of Langdon; grandchildren: Miranda (Jason) Andel, Garrett (Lori) Condon, Kyle Moen, Jocelyn Fetsch, Karly Moen, Mikelle Fetsch, Elizabeth Hanson, Isabell Fetsch, and Konner Moen; great-grandchildren: Raya Hanson and Grady Andel; siblings: Mary Keeling, Don (Anna) Fetsch, Delores (Vernon) Samuelson, David (Sylvia) Fetsch, Carmie (Emory) Coles, and Harvey (Peri) Fetsch and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Preceding Ray in death are his parents, brother-in-law George Keeling, father and mother-in-law Bert and Margaret Fischer, brother-in-law Tom Fischer, sister-in-law Pat Fischer, and niece Carrie Fischer.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.
Visitation will take place Monday, May 18, 2015 from 5-7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 rosary and 7:00 prayer service at St. Alphonsus Church. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.
