Ray Elke

Ray Elke, 68, of Cavalier, ND passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at his home. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, November 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Raymond Dale Elke was born September 21, 1944, at Langdon, ND to Reinhold and Ida (Stegman) Elke. He grew up in the Cavalier area and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1962, Ray then attended Moorhead State University where he received his degree in education.
On May 27, 1972, he married Gerry Cook at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cavalier. After their marriage they continued to live in the Cavalier area. Ray enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry; son: Michael (Janelle) Elke, Coon Rapids, MN, twin sons, Dale Elke, Cavalier, and Darin (Kayla) Elke, Cleveland, OH; grandchildren: Leo and Lyndon Elke; siblingsL Doris (John) Stubson, Hutchinson, MN and Richard (Jean) Elke, Cavalier.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers: Edward and Fred Elke.
Clergy: Rev. Mark Chepulis.
Music: Bettie Lou Stegman, Organist.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dennis Hartje, Rick Helgo, Rick Kemnitz, Harlan Kiemele, Kermit Rollefstad, and Doug Samson.
