Ray Braaten

Ray (Bunny) Braaten, 62, of Langdon, ND passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND surrounded by his family.

Ray was born September 22, 1945 at Devils Lake, ND to Adolph and Mabel (Berven) Braaten. He grew up and graduated from High School in Devils Lake where he played hockey. He went on to attend Lake Region State College. Ray and Rosemary Braaten were united in marriage on January 13, 1968 in Devils Lake. They made their home and raised their family in Langdon where Ray worked for Leevers Supermarket for 30 years. He had many passions in his life but his greatest love was for his family and his grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his wife Rosemary, children: John (Tami) Braaten of Langdon, ND; Debra (Wade) Fraser of Walhalla, ND; and Jason (Danika) Braaten of East Grand Forks, MN, grandchildren: Connor Braaten, Abby Braaten, Taylor Laidlaw, Jenna Fraser, Cayden Braaten and Cooper Braaten, brothers Truman (Dolly) Braaten of Fargo, ND; Clayton (Grayce) Braaten of Bemidji, MN; Gilmore (Bonnie) Braaten of Brownsville, TX. Sisters: Marlys Hirn of Land O’Lakes, WI, Valerie (Fred) Piatz, Carrington, ND. Mother in law Agnes Pflipsen, Max, ND. Brother-in-laws Adam Freidig of Hensler, ND and Duane Boehmer of Devils Lake, ND, Arnold (Vicki) Stumvoll, Glasgow, MT, Dwight (Shelly) Pflipsen, Nashville, TN. Sister in laws: Alice (Phil) Moon, St. George, UT, Judy (John) Reading, York, VA, Doris (Rocky) Moore, Cokeville, WY. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Sylvia Freidig, Inez Boehmer, Ramona Braaten and Joyce Braaten.

VISITATION will begin at 5pm on Wednesday October 3, 2007 with a 7:00pm prayer service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES will take place at 2:00pm on Thursday October 4, 2007 at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND.

INTERMENT will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, North Dakota.
