Randolph (“Randy”) M. Carpenter of Walhalla, ND, passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 73 years, after a short, hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held on October 19, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Walhalla American Legion. Come out and celebrate the wonderful life of Randy Carpenter. He was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle and grandpa. He is truly missed. The sharing of memories over coffee and cookies/bars would be what he would want us to do.
Randy was born on June 1, 1951, to Homer and Vivian (Berg) Carpenter. While serving with the U.S. Army, he met the love of his life, Nancy. They married in November of 1974, and made their home in Walhalla, where they raised their two children, Tony and Kelley. He worked for many farmers in the area and loved to be kept busy. He was known to most as “Randoo” or “Uncle Randy.” He is truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Larry and Norris, and nephews, Christopher Lamping and Jack Bennett.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 49 years, his children, Tony (Alisha) of Fargo, ND, and Kelley (Leland) Anderson, of Devils Lake, ND. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Linkon and Brooklyn Carpenter; step-grandchildren, Tia (Dan) Kaieta, Tava (Doug) Dailey, Dustin (Rebecca) Anderson, and Travis Anderson; step-great grandchildren, Ari, Connor, Payson, Elkin, Hudson, and Kinsley; siblings, John (Gaye), Mary (Manley) Bennett, Nancy, Rani, Barb (Dan) Lamping, Danny (Bert), and Scott (Cheryl); and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
