Mona (Ramona) Delores Taylor Vosper, 95, passed away on September 21, 2024, at St. Benedict’s Nursing Home in St. Cloud, MN. A private family service will be held in St. Cloud, MN and interment will be held at Neche Union Cemetery at a later date.
Mona was born July 26, 1929, to George and Martha (Saiger) Lembke. After her graduation from High School in Neche, ND, she attended Mayville State College. She graduated from Aakers Business College and moved to Fargo to work for KFGO Radio Station for 3 1/2 years, which she loved.
On July 8th, 1950, Mona married Leslie Taylor at Christ Lutheran Church in Neche, ND. After Les graduated from NDSU, they moved to Stanley, ND, where Les taught Vocational Agriculture for four years. Lancaster, MN, became home for two years as Mona and Les wished to return to the Red River Valley area to be closer to family in Neche. A move to Pembina, ND, followed when Les accepted a position with the Citizen’s State Bank. Mona worked for the government before she worked at the bank filling in whenever needed. Pembina was home, where they raised their two children, Nancy and Doug.
After 40 years of marriage, Mona lost Les to cancer in 1991. She married Kent Vosper in 1994 and returned to Neche. Kent passed away from cancer in 2003. Mona moved to St. Cloud, MN in 2015 to be closer to family.
Mona’s passions were cooking and baking. Trying new recipes was a favorite pastime, which Les, Nancy and Doug enjoyed! Mona was an active member of the Pembina and Neche Lutheran Churches. She taught Sunday School, attended Women’s Bible Study, and was often found in the church kitchen serving for special events. Mona enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, yet she’d be first at the table for any card game. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, music, and attending concerts. She was also known for some mischief on April Fool’s Day and Halloween. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her heart with joy and brought her endless smiles.
