Ramona Danielson

Ramona Danielson passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Ramona I. Gladue was born November 19, 1932, the daughter of Alphonse and Mary (LaRocque) Gladue.  She was raised in the Walhalla area.  She graduated high school in 1950.  She married Raymond R. Danielson on November of 1952.  They resided in Walhalla and had 5 children.  

Ramona worked at Thompson’s Bakery in Walhalla until 1988 when she moved to Grand Forks to work for All Season’s Garden Center.  While in Grand Forks she also worked at Super One in the bakery department and at Del’s Coffee Shop as a waitress.  She retired from Del’s to be a Foster Grandparent for Kelly School – she enjoyed being with and reading to the children.  In the last 12 years, she suffered from Dementia/Alzheimer’s.  She kept her sense of humor and did her best to be as independent as she could be.  Her Catholic faith was very important to her.  She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla and when she moved to Grand Forks became a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.   

Ramona is survived by 5 children, Cindy Knudson (Darwin Bachmann), Osage, MN, Debbie Danielson (Ole Horgdal), Henderson, IA, Randy (Joan)Danielson, Gillette, WY, Brian (Susan) Danielson, Walhalla, ND, and Wendy (Dave) Wetzel, Grand Forks.  11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Sister-in-law, Betty (Merle) Mathison Grand Forks, ND, brother-in-law Dale Grubb, Wenatchee, WA.  

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Mary, brothers Duane (Margie), George (Alice), Robert and Alva, sisters Stella Taylor (Thurmun), Jean Grubb and Marlene Burckhard (James).
