Peter C. Bennett age 88 of Walhalla, ND died on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 10:30 am at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND on Wednesday March 8, 2006 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Burial will be in the Vang Cemetery, Vang, ND. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Peter Charles Bennett was born April 4, 1917, at Tuttle, ND to Jacob and Mary (Steidl) Bennett. He grew up in Tuttle where he graduated from high school.
On August 12, 1939, he married Edith Hiller at Thief River Falls, MN. After their marriage they lived at Vang where they farmed. After retirement they moved to Youngtown Terrace in Walhalla. Edith passed away on March 27, 1995. In 2000, he became a resident of the Pembilier Nursing Center.
He is survived by daughters, Frances Seeley, Pryor, OK; Evoynel Berg, Anamoose, ND; Zelda (Richard) Lawson, Cavalier, ND; Imogene (Gerald) Helle, Thief River Falls, MN; Norma (Ron) Storey and Gayle (Bradley) Gendron, all of Walhalla, ND; sons, Howard Bennett, Edmore, ND; Emmet (Emma) Bennett, Manley (Mary Ellen) Bennett, Steve (Vicki) Bennett, all of Walhalla, ND; 36 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; brother, Vernon (Donna) Bennett, Lancaster, MN.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Carol and brother, Leon.
