Penny S. Scott

Penny Scott, 49, of Langdon, ND passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Penny Sue Scott was born September 12, 1967 in Devils Lake, ND to Elmer and Grace (Borgen) Scott. She grew up in the Hannah area and attended school there for seven years before going to Border Central High School in Calvin, graduating in 1985. She continued her education at NDSU and graduated in 1990 with a degree in Clinical Dietetics. Penny started her career at Mercy Hospital in Owensboro, KY in 1990. She worked there until 1995 when she started working at Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville, IN. A majority of her working years was spent in Amarillo, TX where she worked as a clinical dietitian in the kidney dialysis unit. Due to health issues, Penny returned to North Dakota and had lived in Langdon the last two years.

When she was younger, Penny attended Camp Sioux Diabetes Camp for many years and then became a camp counselor after high school. Penny loved her two dogs and felt they were part of her family. She always thought of others before herself and wanted to be an organ donor. Penny was always a very happy person even though she had many health issues due to her diabetes. The last two years had been hard for her because she couldn’t work, missed her doctors in Texas, and longed for the warm weather she had become used to.

Surviving Penny are her parents; aunts and uncles: Linda (Bob) Lill, Bob (Patricia) Scott, Ella (Steve) Bulat, Mary (Gary) Haugland, Jean (Tom) Cleary, Lorraine (Gaylord) Weiner, Ole (Sharon) Borgen, Douglas (Linda) Borgen, Mary (Terry) Krohn, Ron (Susie) Borgen; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Robert & Velma Scott, William Borgen, Mary Jordan and uncles David Scott & Larry Borgen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Assembly of God Church in Walhalla, ND. Visitation will take place for one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.

Funeral Services for Penny have been postponed until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
