Patricia Rose Metzger

Patricia Metzger, 90, of Langdon, ND passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon.

Patricia Rose Schneider was born March 20, 1926 to Ray and Elsie (Johnson) Schneider in Mt. Carmel, ND. She attended grade school in the Hannah area and graduated from Hannah High School in 1944. She then went on to Valley City Teacher’s College and obtained her two year standard teaching certificate. Pat returned to the Langdon area and taught school for a couple years. She was united in marriage to Emeric Metzger on June 19, 1947 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Wales, ND. They made their home in Langdon. After raising her family, she went back to work at J.C. Penney in Langdon for several years and also spent time volunteering at the Langdon hospital. Pat and Emeric spent over 20 years wintering in Mesa, AZ. Pat loved to bowl and play cards. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Pat had been a resident at Maple Manor Care Center since 2014.

Pat is survived by her children: Lola (Duane) Gellner of Fargo, ND, Colleen Spreckelmeyer of Bellingham, WA, Jim Metzger of Minot, ND, Margy (Ken) Spangler of Sedro Woolley, WA; grandchildren: Rob, Marney and Ryan Gellner, Wade and Kyle Spreckelmeyer, Brian Metzger, Nick and Kayla Spangler; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings: Louis (Jean) Schneider of Bismarck, ND and Mary (Harris) Hillestad of Lillian, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emeric, and brothers: Luverne, Syl and Elmer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon. Visitation will take place from 5-7:00 p.m. with a 6:45 p.m. Rosary and 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Thursday.

Interment – Calvary Cemetery, Langdon.
