Orville O. Dinuson, 89, of Walhalla, ND passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 11, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services on Friday. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Orville was born November 19, 1921, at Fargo, ND, the son of A.S. and Ingebjorg (Vivatson) Dinuson. He grew up in the Svold area and attended Cavalier High School. Orville served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and after his discharge from the service returned to the Svold area where he farmed. In his spare time, Orville had a passion for woodworking.
On April 17, 1947, he married Bernice Metzger in California.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; daughter, Robin (Tim) Olson, Grundy Center, IA; grandchildren: Misty (Ron) Lian, Manchester, TN; Brian Olson, Pelican Rapids, MN; and Molly Bailen Maloof, Portland, OR; great grandchildren, Noah and Hannah Lian.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Barbara Bailen; brother, Alvin Dinuson, and sister, Elsie Tetrault.
