Olin H Olson

Olin H. Olson, 85, of rural Langdon, ND passed away May 9, 2007 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.

Olin was born January 22, 1922 at the Olson farm near Langdon to Ole E.M. and Helga (Bratlie) Olson. Olin attended school at Loam #2 and went on to take Ag courses at Park River with his brother Lloyd. Olin entered the United States Marine Corps on November 10, 1942 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged on October 8, 1945. Olin was united in marriage to Ethel Mae Danielson on July 27, 1945 at New Bern, North Carolina. They lived at Poplar Grove (near Walhalla) from 1947 to 1949 and went on to make their home and raise their family in Homen Township where they farmed and raised cattle. Olin also worked part time as a carpenter and on road maintenance. He spent three winters in Bremerton, WA working at the shipyards. Olin and Ethel were active members of the Big Pembina Lutheran Church, serving as Church President for a number of years. HE was a member of the Langdon VFW and served on the Mt. Carmel Water Board. Olin was giving towards his community, most recently he was notable for his gift of music to area nursing homes.

He is survived by his daughters: Diane M. Olson of Langdon, ND; Candice F. (Stephen) Norman of Rockledge, FL; Susan (Mike) Waldoch of Harvey, ND; Peggy E. Olson of Cavalier, ND; Brenda E. Utke of Mounds View, MN; Miriam J. Olson of Plymouth, MN; Rebecca L. (Jaime Gmach) Olson of Golden Valley, MN; Melissa B. (Tony) Huotte of Grand Forks, ND, 13 grandchildren: Mick (Erica) Brown; Stephanie Brown (Wade Marcotte); Annie and Andrew Norman; Chad, Nick, Zach Waldoch; Colin and Michael Utke; Tessa and Daniel Eagen; Tim and Alex Huotte, Great Grandchildren: Cassidy and Courtnie Cook; Payton Waldoch; and Kayla Maygra, brothers and sisters: Lloyd Olson of Minneapolis, MN; Alda (Duane) Raeder of Christine, ND; L.E. �Ole” (Marjorie) Olson of Langdon, ND; June Marsden of Pekin, IL Helga (Dennis) Schuschke of Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ethel, brothers Erling, Hans, Henry and Andrew.

VISITATION will begin at 5:oo O �Clock Friday May 11, 2007 with a 7:30pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES Saturday May 12, 2007 at 2:00 O �Clock at the Walhalla Lutheran Church of Walhalla, ND.
